As the sun sinks behind the masts and a lone gull calls out before fading into silence, the harbor settles into dusk. The weathered dock creaks with the pull of the tide, lanterns glow in salt-worn windows, and a weary seaman leans back into his leather chair, pipe in hand.

Captain Black embodies the soul of a New England fishing town at day’s end—when nets are stowed, boots rest by the door, and the air carries the lingering sweetness of cherrywood smoke. Notes of smoked tobacco leaves, charred cherries, and briny air settle into a warm, comforting blend—anchored by aged leather and earthy moss. It is the scent of wool coats and well-worn timber, of stories told slowly in smoke and silence by the fire.

This is a limited-edition scent produced in small batch quantities.

Candle Care

For the first candle burn, allow a minimum of 3-4 hours for the candle to melt to establish a wider melt pool across the surface of the candle. This helps to prevent tunneling on future burn sessions. Coconut beeswax may not reach the edges of the vessel on the first few burns, and that's ok!

Keep your wick trimmed throughout the life of the candle to ensure a clean, even flame, reduce smoke and soot, and prevent the wick from mushrooming or sparking.

Regular trimming can also extend your candle’s life by up to 25%. Always keep an eye on your burning candle and ensure it's out of reach of children and pets. Place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and flammable objects. Limit each burn session to a maximum of 4 hours.

Overburning can cause the container to overheat and may affect the candle's fragrance quality. When only 1/4 inch of wax remains, it's time to retire the candle to prevent potential heat damage to surfaces.
