Frequently Asked Questions
What ingredients are used in your candles?
- Our Commitment to Clean Ingredients
Our journey to a cleaner candle starts with our wax blend and is made from coconut and beeswax. We love this wax since it doesn't contain any toxins, gluten, parabens, and phthalates. - We hold our fragrances to the same high standards. Each scent is carefully sourced and vetted to ensure they comply with California’s strict Proposition 65 standards, meaning they are free of chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm—so you can breathe easy and burn confidently.
- We use 100% cotton wicks in our candles that do not contain any bleach or lead. When properly trimmed, they burn cleaner with less soot.
How do I care for my candle?
- Trim your wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to ¼ inch with scissors or wick trimmers. This simple step ensures a clean, even flame, reduces smoke and soot, and prevents wicks from mushrooming. Regular trimming can also extend the life of your candle by up to 25%. - Melt Pool
For the first candle burn, allow the wax to melt completely across the surface of the candle. This can take 2–4 hours, depending on the candle size. This prevents tunneling and sets the stage for an even burn every time. Wax has memory, so give it time to create a full melt pool. - Never Alone
Always keep an eye on your burning candle and ensure it's out of reach of children and pets. Place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and flammable objects. This not only ensures safety but also promotes an even burn. - Call it Quits
Limit each burn session to a maximum of 4 hours. Over burning can cause the container to overheat and may affect the candle's fragrance quality. When only ½ inch of wax remains, it's time to retire the candle to prevent potential heat damage to surfaces.
